What to expect at a High Point Friends Meeting for
Worship?
We affirm that worship comes in many forms- through silent meditation, through spoken word, through song and artistic expression, and through fellowship and gathered prayer. While some Quaker meetings have an entirely silent or Unprogrammed worship, High Point Friends has a semi-programmed worship, which means that during a typical worship, you will experience singing, scripture readings, and a reflection from our pastor as well as a period of silence or “open worship” during which we may pray or meditate quietly. During “open worship,” anyone who feels that God has given them a message to share may stand and speak briefly to the group.
Meeting for Worship is held each Sunday at 10:00 am.
A formation group (Sunday school class) meets immediately following worship at 11:00 am in the library to discuss further the sermon and Scripture.
